OUR PHILOSOPHY
4 Big Kids welcome all families and respect what each family brings to the out of school hours community. We understand the importance that cultural and family diversity contributes to our service. Our emphasis is on providing a place where children feel at home and are free to explore the experiences we plan together.
We value all staff, children and families in our Centre. Our educators aspire to be mentors to all children through positive reinforcement, role modelling and encouragement. Through a relaxed and positive environment, we provide a place where children can feel at ease and build meaningful relationships whilst participating in play-based learning in a sustainable and natural environment.
We network with local services and local community bodies to enhance children’s social and emotional skills. Our educators participate in professional development workshops that are reflective of MY TIME, OUR PLACE curriculum and National Quality Standards in Outside School Hours Care.
Families are encouraged to give input to our program as we believe that communication is the key element to achieving the best outcomes for the children and families.
Our program is based on children’s needs and interest and to achieve all the outcomes. We provide an environment that is safe and secure which is like a home away from home for all 4 Big Kids families.
Our Services
We are pleased to let you know 4 Big Kids will be going through our Quality Assessment (rating and assessment) this coming Thursday 3rd October.
The National Regulations require approved services to have a Quality Improvement Plan (QIP). The aim of the QIP is to help providers self-assess their performance in delivering quality education and care and to plan future improvements.
Since the service opened in late June 2023 we have worked on all areas of the service to help improve the service we provided to you all.
The rating and assessment visit will come in two parts over two days, they will be visiting 4 Big Kids on Thursday,3 October 2024. on this day they will be mostly focused on taking observations of practice; however, they will engage in some discussions with educators and staff, and sight relevant documentation as required. Friday. 4 October a virtual meeting for an in-depth discussion about our service , looking at documentation etc.
We would love your feed back and supportive words so we can pass them onto the educators to show them how proud we are of their efforts and the changes they have made with management.
Thank you all for your support, encouragement and being a part of 4 Big Kids journey.

Our Story
Once upon a time, two Family Day Care providers saw a need in the local community for school aged children to have a place of their own! 4 Big Kids was established in 2007, we are a registered child care service licensed through the Department for Communities Education and Care Regulatory Unit.
Pop in and have a chat with the educators at these centres during opening times, We look forward to welcoming lots of new families to our service.
